Who we are.

Learn more about WHO we are and WHAT we believe as a church.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

1. The Omnipresence of God.

God is absolute good, everywhere present. Whither shall I go from Thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from Thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven,     Thou art there. If I make my bed in hell, behold Thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even         there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thou right hand shall hold me. (Psalm 139:7-10)

2. The Divinity of Humankind.

As humans, we have a spark of the Divinity within us, the Christ within. Our very essence is of God and, therefore, we are inherently good,                    also. And God said, “Let us make man (humankind) in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over          the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man            (humankind) in God’s own image, in the image of God created God them. (Genesis 1:26-27)

3. The Power and Value of Thought.

As humans, we create our own experiences by the activity of our thinking. Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought. For as a          man thinks in his heart, so is he. (Proverbs 23:7)

4. Practicing The Presence.

Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God-Mind and, therefore, brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything            good. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,                    whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these                                things. (Philippians 4:8)

5. The Law of Demonstration

Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough. We must also live and practice, the Truth we know. But seek ye first      the kingdom of God, and God’s righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you. (Matthew 6:24-33)

Statements of Faith

01/

We Believe that it is God’s will that every individual on the face of this earth should live a healthy, happy and prosperous life.

02/

We Believe that such a life is within the reach of each one of us and the way to its attainment begins with the realization that the Kingdom of God is within us, waiting for us to bring it into expression.

03/

We Believe that we can bring this Kingdom forth by practicing the Universal/Truth Principles handed down through the ages and taught by our Wayshower Jesus the Christ.

04/

We Believe that our experiences are the reflections of our beliefs, therefore; the key to joyful and successful living is right thinking followed by right action.

05/

We Believe that the basis for right thinking is Love, love of God and all that is GOOD in our fellow humans, as well as ourselves.

06/

We Believe that learning to listen to the whisperings of the “still small voice” of God within us will insure that we are guided to right action.

07/

We Believe that a mighty new wind is blowing. Men and women everywhere are hungry for practical techniques that will show them how to fulfill the good desires of their hearts.

The Core Text at UNITED

The Bible is the primary text used by UNITED Church. We use allegorical interpretation to assist us in understanding the Bible and to uncover the essence of the teachings embedded within the scriptures.

We believe the Bible offers nourishment for the soul and we use the lessons contained therein to remind us that we have a Divine origin and purpose. Thus, the Bible is an invaluable guidebook for living.

We also believe in open and progressive revelation that is not bound by the past. Therefore, in addition to the Bible, we use the teachings and writings of other New Thought visionaries. The Science of Living Study Guide, by Rev. Ike is our secondary text.
